Live music completes this memorable experience. Jesse DeCarlo has been a fixture on the Monterey music scene for many years. He has played guitar and bass with well-known local artists including Dani Paige, Jim Payne, Al James, Minor Williams, Lisa Taylor, Cindy Alexander, Adrea Castiano, Malinda DeRouen, and The Transducers. Jesse will be performing a mixture of jazz standards and instrumental funk, accompanied by Patrick Tregenza on drums and Etienne David Franc on bass.

Raison d’etre would have been a great alternate name for Outstanding in the Field. The expression is a succinct descriptor of what we look for and what is found in Big Sur.  Sui generis also describes it well. Or exemplar. But even these don't quite suffice. Really, you need to come see for yourself. OMG or holy moly in the field?
